How long does a typical flooring installation take?
It depends on the scope and the material. Tile in a bathroom with custom layout might take 2 days just for that room. We give you a day-count estimate during your consultation. The longest we've taken was three weeks but that was when the project was a larger one and there was subfloor problems that had to be addressed first.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We ask that the installation area be cleared of furniture before our crew arrives. We can help with furniture moving for an additional fee, but most clients find it's easiest to coordinate the move themselves. For room-by-room projects, we'll work with you to sequence things so you're not living without a kitchen or bedroom for multiple days at once. Just let us know what's involved when you fill out the form.
What happens if you find subfloor problems during the project?
This is something we take seriously. If we open up a floor and find rot, high moisture readings, squeaky joists, or an unlevel surface that wasn't visible before demo, we stop and call you. We'll walk you through what we found, show you photos, explain what it means for the installation, and give you an updated quote for the repair work before we touch anything additional. We never just fix it and charge you later. You always approve any scope change before work continues.
Do you supply the materials, or do I need to buy them separately?
We'd rather the customer supplies the material. This way a quote is much easier to give as well as a time frame. It's simpler to have the materials ready to go at anytime, we aren't fans of surpise charges either and that's why we'd rather charge you for a job well done. That way you have your transparency with the cost of your materials and what we charge for labor.
